Please note:
Registration with the PTGA is a requirement if you want your assessments to be recognised by the PTGA. This registration fee is not included. We will guide you regarding PTGA registration.
Included in the Complete Expedition Guide course is our Expedition Guide Starter Pack, comprising a waterproof backpack, multitool, compass, first-aid kit, and some essentials that you will need for the course and for your career as an expedition guide. They are so essential to you career we have made them available for purchase to course-goers for US$200 per Expedition Guide Starter Pack.

FUNDAMENTALS OF EXPEDITION GUIDING COURSE

DRIVING SMALL BOATS / ZODIACS COURSE
Duration: 6 Days

Please note: Our Driving Small Boats course is all inclusive of the training, food, accommodation and transport to and from the dam water venue.
WILDERNESS FIRST AID COURSE – POLAR MEDIC
Duration: 3 Days
Cost: US$1 500
Included Certifications:
- International Trauma Life Support Certification
- Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa Certification (For CPR and AED)
OPERATIONS IN POLAR BEAR ENVIRONMENTS AND FIREARM HANDLING
Duration: 3 Days
Cost: US$1 200
Included certification:
South African Certificate of Competency in handling a firearm, which is recognised by the Governor of Svalbard.
PTGA ASSESSMENTS
Duration: 2 Days
Cost: US$ 950

ONLINE FUNDAMENTALS OF EXPEDITION GUIDING COURSE
Duration: 6 Days

Please note:
Practical training aspects such as crevasse rescue and leading a hike cannot be done in the online course, however, theoretical training will still be provided.
